… more than a program… more than a ministry.

Ocoee Outreach is a community ministry that provides free home repair to low-income home owners living in Southeast Tennessee.  Through the restoration of houses, we believe we can accomplish the greater restoration of hearts and homes now and for eternity.  Our desire is to spread the love and good news of Jesus Christ to all we cross paths with.

As we work with our hands for those in need, and spread the message of Christ, the Master Craftsman seeks to make us whole as He dwells within us and touches those with whom we minister.  This ministry not only provides a needed service for the Cleveland community, but it also provides a road less traveled for Believers to choose and participate in a servant lifestyle as they discover that serving Christ by serving others truly does bring meaning and fulfillment to life.

“We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has the world’s goods, and beholds his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?  Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.”
(I John 3:16-18 NAM)

It is the Mission of Ocoee Outreach to show we love people to the point we not only want to share the Gospel of God with them, but to share our own lives with them!

"so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well."
(I Thessalonians 2:8 NIV)

Ocoee Outreach is a missions ministry of the CrossNet Baptist Network working in conjunction with the North American Mission Board.

Ocoee Outreach is:

Created in 1996, Ocoee Outreach was birthed because of a vision to eliminate substandard housing in Southeast Tennessee and to share the love of Christ in a tangible way. We also saw a way to provide an opportunity for mission volunteers to experience living out a servant lifestyle.

  • A WAY

With Ocoee Outreach, there is a particular way of doing things. It is our belief that service to Christ should find its expression in excellence…and self-denial.
The “Ocoee Outreach Way” means doing your very best in all things… and giving the needs of others consideration above your own.

  • A GIFT

Whether staff, volunteer, or client… Ocoee Outreach has proven itself to be a Gift from God. God reaches out of eternity to share His presence, concern, and love with those who need it. For many, Ocoee Outreach is one such avenue for experiencing the reality of God at work.

Fast Facts

Southeast Tennessee is one of the richest per capita regions within the Volunteer State. While located within this prosperous region, the home of Ocoee Outreach (Cleveland, Tennessee) also contains a pocket of poverty that ranks among our nation's poorest.

Within the community of East Cleveland, only 56% of adults have completed a high school education; 95% of children receive free/reduced fee breakfasts and lunches through the public schools; only 1 in 4 families have a male head of household; and the average income for a family of 4 is only $14,000.

Cleveland, Tennessee, is considered by many to be a “Christian” community: home of 62 Southern Baptist churches, the International Headquarters for the Church of God, the International Headquarters for the Church of God of Prophecy, Lee University (a Christian school of higher learning), and numerous other churches of varying denominations. In fact, The San Francisco Chronicle has reported that there are more protestant evangelical churches per capita in Cleveland, Tennessee, than in any other city in the United States!

Yet...many people enjoying the benefits of this prosperous, Christian community fail to see the tremendous disparity that exists.

Ocoee Outreach is determined to diminish that gap.
