To RESTORE HOMES and RENEW HOPE in an effort to REACH HEARTS for Jesus Christ.
Ocoee Outreach is a 501(c)3 non-profit ministry of the CrossNet Baptist Network and is associated with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and the North American Mission Board. We take care of all the details and logistics for your visit, which makes it easier for group leaders to be able to serve alongside their teams members and feel at ease.
Our goal is to use the tools of home repair and outreach for children, seniors and families to introduce them to Jesus Christ! Each mission team member will be equipped and encouraged to speak courageously for Christ and not to be timid or ashamed, devoting your life to what really counts, without fear!
Our theme for Ocoee Outreach this year is “They Will Know” is based John 13:35. It is the Mission of Ocoee Outreach to share the Love of Christ with others by restoring homes, renewing hope, and reaching hearts. Our goal is to use the tool of home repair and outreach to children, seniors and families to introduce them to Jesus Christ!
Southeast Tennessee is one of the richest per capita regions within the Volunteer State. While located within this prosperous region, the home of Ocoee Outreach (Cleveland, Tennessee) also contains a pocket of poverty that ranks among our nation’s poorest.
Cleveland, Tennessee, is considered by many to be a “Christian” community: home of over 60 Southern Baptist churches, the International Headquarters for the Church of God, the International Headquarters for the Church of God of Prophecy, Lee University (a Christian school of higher learning), and numerous other churches of varying denominations. In fact, The San Francisco Chronicle has reported that there are more protestant evangelical churches per capita in Cleveland, Tennessee, than in any other city in the United States! Yet…many people enjoying the benefits of this prosperous, Christian community fail to see the tremendous disparity that exists. Ocoee Outreach is determined to diminish that gap.
The need is great in Cleveland, Tennessee and we need to be God’s hands in reaching others with His love. While here you will be challenged to restore homes, renew hope and reach hearts for Jesus Christ. Out of this theme will flow countless opportunities to spread the love and good news of Jesus Christ through service and witness. We have compiled this planning guide to help you as you prepare to come. Our prayer is that it will clarify matters and help you devote your attention to the more important things like prayer and simply being available for God to use as He sees fit.
At Ocoee Outreach, your group will be given the opportunity to share Christ’s love with others using the following tools:
Primary Tool - This is the biggest need.
Evangelistic Block Parties to reach neighborhoods.
Backyard Bible Clubs and Vacation Bible School
Minister to those in assisted living/nursing homes
Evangelism through canvassing & ministry servant projects
Minister to youth through sports and activities
Your own group Bible Study & relationship building at the famous Blue Hole swimming spot on the beautiful Ocoee River at the Whitewater Olympic Center.
We offer a very complete missions experience that is customized to fit where your group is spiritually and where God could be moving them. We go beyond just a daily morning and early afternoon experience and set aside Monday & Tuesday evenings for mission work as well. Our Summer Missionaries will serve alongside you – leading by example and creating a positive environment.
On Sunday & Thursday evenings we gather together for worship & celebration. Our worship leaders are prepared to take your group to the next level spiritually, to help them understand what passion and service is all about. We celebrate what God has been doing and culminate in challenging your group to be on mission in their own Jerusalem.
On Wednesday evenings we will try to connect your group with a local church to either lead, assist in leading, or just participate and visit a midweek youth service or church-wide service.
Friday afternoon and evening is “fall in love with Southeast Tennessee Day” with activities such as whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River or enjoy a fun/reward day doing something else that this beautiful area has to offer.
